100% raw, pure, chemical-free, pesticide-free 43% ulmo honey from Chile. This silky honey is made from the nectar of the ulmo (eucryphia cordifolia), a white flowering tree only found in the Los Lagos region of Southern Chile and Argentina. This beautiful area of Patagonia is sparsely populated and largely untouched by commercial agriculture and the use of pesticides and GMOs. Ulmo is known for its medicinal qualities. In a study comparing antimicrobial activity of ulmo and manuka honey, it was found that ulmo had greater antimicrobial activity for all 5 strains of MRSA tested and similar antimicrobial activity against E. Coli and P. Aeruginosa. Even at much lower concentrations, ulmo continued to have antimicrobial activity against 3 strains where manuka had none.
